Installing engGB dictionary for OpenOffice 3 in TeenPup 2008

Hello,
I've downloaded OpenOffice 3 and installed it on my TeenPup box, it works perfectly but does not have and English dictionary and therefore spellchecks in American. I downloaded the English dictionary from OO and put the package in with the other OO dictionary packages - /opt/openoffice.org3/share
It does not appear in the application. Have I put it in the wrong place or missed something? I'm Mr GUI so try to make any answers suitable for a child please. No, on second thoughts, children are good at this stuff, please make answers suitable for me - born in the first half of the last century.

You can get the dictionary you want from here.
After downloading the file you want, open Openoffice, go to Tools->Extension Manager. Click the "Add" button and select the file you've downloaded.

Thanks Bathory,
Sadly your suggestion is just what I did but the dictionary does not appear in the list in extension manager. The default is American (called English) with the options of Spanish and French. The downloaded English dictionary package sits with the others in /opt/openoffice.org3/share but I don't know how to get it to the OpenOffice application.
Thanks for replying.
Starkadder.

Did you read the instructions about installing an extension in OO?
Apart from the ways listed there you can use unopkg (located in the OO program directory where soffice, swriter are located):
Code:
unopkg add /path/to/dictionary.oxt
The installed dictionaries for a user are located in ~/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/<random charactes>/<dict name>
Dictionaries installed by root are located in /opt/openoffice.org3/share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/<random characters>/<dict name>

Hello bathory,
Yes to all of that, I checked the directories you suggested and the dictionaries were present. I re-installed OpenOffice and everything is fine now (I've even got lots of extra dictionaries like Belgian French!). It must have been one of those odd glitches that when I worked in process engineering we used to call "SUPs" (Spurious Unexplained Phenomena).
Thank you for your interest in the problem, I appreciate it.
S.
