Fossapup64, How to Install Printer

I'm using fossapup 64 bit on a 16 gb usb stick.
Boots & everything works well.
I want to install a Canon Pixma IP2820 printer.
edit:
The printer is wired, not wireless.

The Canon site doesn't show any drivers for Linux 32 bit or 64 bit, so I tried to install it using wine. Didn't work.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mm.

Well, according to the Canon site, the "Pixma IP 2820" doesn't even exist. Are you certain that's the correct model number?

AFAIK, you can't install printer drivers for Linux under WINE, because the Linux 'host' OS still needs to have the correct printer driver filters installed for this to work.....

Canons, I'm sorry to say, have always been a total PITA under Puppy.

Mike.

Wine is not intended to be used like that (windows drivers), so no surprises about the outcome.

@Mike Walsh: The model is listed here at least...
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/p...-series/ip2820

However, as the OP mentioned no explicit Linux driver listed for it (on that Canon site at least). I did find the following tutorial...
https://tutorialforlinux.com/2018/05...nload-install/
...which refers to a possible driver solution that may work for you. YMMV.

The Canon Asia website lists iP2800 series drivers, which might provide the required support perhaps...

Just use the debian pre packaged drivers from here. obviously this isn't a kernel space thing only user space.
twains and twunks.
https://wiki.debian.org/Canon
then fire up your cups program then admin the printer.
As you know puppy will install debs txz etc.
open your browser and put this in it.
http://localhost:631/admin
now point it to your driver after it
finds your printer.

After getting the printer working I shut down without saving so I could try the site linked in post #4 by ferrari.
It goes through several links and eventually arrives at drivers for the IP2820. They also work.
Thank you all again.
