chattr +i

Something modified my sysinit.rc and fstab files.

As a result, my drives would not auto mount.

I tried to add the immutable attribute to the repaired files, but it will not let me.

I tried other files in other directories, and chattr +i does work their either.

I found the problem.

chattr is working.

I was using ls -a -l which does not show the i attribute while
lsattr does.
