card OK monitor not!

Hi, I have a small prob with Puppy 4.2 . I have an AM2 MB with Nvidia 410/430 O/B video and a Compaq 1501 tft monitor. When Puppy boots I have to use Xvesa because Xorg gives me the message," monitor out of sync". When I run Xorgwizard I get to the resolution screen I pick my 1024x768 it gives me ," monitor Maximum no good ,card OK". I go into Xorg.conf and the card is there but the monitor settings are way out. I have DL the nvidia driver and installed by clicking on it. Then run nvidia.xconfig, reboot but when I check I find the driver is not installed.
I have a Puppy 4.12 that has Nvidia driver install menu that works a treat but for some reason it only gives me one core and the speed difference is very noticeable.
Sorry if this is a bit long, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have posted this on the Puppy forum but as yet no reply.

Fixed. I replaced the monitor with one that defaulted to 75mhz and it works perfect. I downloaded nvidia drivers and they installed perfectly.
