Question Access Question

I have been trying to get Dingo to connect to the internet and have not had any luck. When I use the connection wizard, I do not get an option to do anything other than install a driver, and none of them seem to work. The connection is an ethernet connection and the PC is a HP from around 2002. Covenant Eyes is installed on the PC, a program that monitors everything that goes over the internet connection and when it isn't logged in in windows, it severs the internet connection. Would something like this keep Dingo from connecting to the internet or should there not be a problem? If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm confused - if you have only 1 computer then 'covenant eyes' shouldn't matter. If 'covenant eyes' is on a second computer on your network and shuts down the network, then simply shut down the computer that's got it and bring up the network.

Some schools etc used to use a variety of software that provided some proprietary authentication before accessing the internet (as opposed to the usual authenticating proxy + firewall) - that sort of software would prevent anything but Windows + proprietary rubbish from accessing the internet. Well, at least until you install the Linux software that keeps that proprietary software happy.

Smile ethernet

if you are using dingo ,no need for driver
click connect icon on desktop
connect to network interface
click eth0, test eth0 button,,Puppy was able to find live network
click Auto DHCP ,it will take one minute to check you network,
NETWORK CONFIGURATION OF eth0 SUCCESSFUL will be displayed
press yes to save the configuration,

open from menu >network>roaring penguin PPPoE
press setup follow the instruction
press to start to login
press status to check the connection
use your browser to browse the inter net

i found it easier to connect in dingo than in puppy 3.01
