'lack of signature' booting a HDD install (full)

I've done a full install of puppy 4.2 to a HDD partition, ending up with the option to update an existing grub.
I inserted the text shown to the menu.lst.
When I boot, I get this 'cannot find signature file' (or something similar - my short term memory isn't too good).
I tried the install again, and saved the session this time - all to no avail.

Any clues as to what is wrong?

Derek

I seem to have found the root cause:
the grub I was invoking was version 0.91,
whereas the puppy linux kernel needed 0.97 (probably) to load it.
Fixing the grub version didn't completely fix it, but did change the error message.

In the end I re-installed puppy completely, and then fixed the entries for the other linux versions on the system
