Tomcat, XWindows

Tomcat 3.2, Linux 2.2.17, Apache 1.3.9, mod_jk

I have the above configuration working but have certain graphical elements that get created by my servlets but are not displayed. We have been using apache/jserv in production and this problem was solved by doing a wrapper in thejserv.properties file for an environment variable, namely "DISPLAY", which I specify as localhost:0.0

This issue was addressed in jserv faqs, but I cannot find anything anywhere about this kind of problem with tomcat. Anyone have any ideas?
