tab completion in command line interface

HI,all
I am implementing a cli program,I want the cli to support tab auto completion,for example
> software <tab>
it will list all software parameter


the point is that analyzing input context，is there any classical method to solve it?

Can you give me some advice?

You might want to check out the readline library. What language are you using?

I mean which programming language? (C, C++, Python, Perl, Java etc...)
