pkg-config problem with msys
Linux is rock!!!! I even don't want to use Windows anymore but.... I have to. First, I learn gtk and gtkmm programming in Linux. I kinda like it. And I plan to make the application using that library. But I want to make multiplatform application that can run in Linux and Windows. So..... I try to compile simple gtk programming in Windows XP and I stuck with pkg-config problem.
I have installed msys and mingw. The instalation went smoothly. I could compile helloworld.cpp just I did in my Linux bash. But I failed compiled gtk source code because pkg-config always ask me package names. In DOS command line, when I type command: pkg-config.exe --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0, it will give me a lot of message. You know, something like -IC:/msys/blablabla ....... But when I do the same command in msys, I got message: Must specify package names on the command line.
The same problem occured when I use gtkmm instead.
Here's what I have installed and how I did it:
1. I installed msys-1.0.9 in c:/msys/1.0
2. I installed mingw-3.1.0-1 in c:/msys/1.0/mingw
3. I installed msysDTK-1.0.1 in c:/msys/1.0
4. I installed GTK-Development-Environment-2.2.4.1 in c:/msys/1.0
5. I installed GTK-Runtime-Environment-2.2.4.1 in default directory( program files/common files/ )
6. I installed gtkmm-2.2.8.1 in c:/msys/1.0
So any idea????
