php development tools


I use Fedora and want to develop a website using php (on Apache). Can someone suggest a tool that i should use for this development that allow me to debug the php code.

I use good old VIM + Xdebugger, works well. You can step through yr PHP code and examine the contents of most variables etc.

Hi -

I'm partial to "vi" and judicious use of "echo" (with the occasional "fopen/fprintf" to a text file).

Nevertheless, I believe that the Eclipse IDE also supports PHP:

As do commercial tools like Komodo, Borland, and many others:
