Newbie:What are inbound and outbound memory windows?

Hi,

I'm writing a small toy-program for access read/writes to an exotic bus (VME - you surely have seen a thread or two from me about that already). My question - what are in/outbound windows and registers? Do they have something to do with virtual memory windows and maps?
I really tried to find a definition about that but Google said nothing sensical...
So, please if you can help...

P.S. Language: C

Are you trying to write to the VME bus from another bus? (say like from a PCI bus on a SBC)

Not write, there is one already written.
Nevermind, I found what I was looking for (at last):
Code:
The outbound VME registers can create/delete address ranges in CPU space within which CPU accesses are translated into VME bus accesses. These are called ‘outbound windows’.
The inbound VME registers can create/delete address ranges in VME space within which VME accesses are translated into CPU bus accesses. These are called ‘inbound windows’.
