Matrix Rotation in 3D about theta and phi.

I have some code that I have inherited which performs a 3D rotation by taking a central point a COM if you like and then determining a vector which defines a point in the system, an atom for example. Then this vector is simply rotated by theta and phi, using matrix rotations. I have the code, but I wish to have a reference to where the code came from and how it was derived.

So no references...which is what I am keen to get hold of. Now I have the code, it works, its tested and performs rotations of an object about theta and phi. However I am finding it hard to figure where this code has come from as it seems most people are performing rotations about a specific axis and this is not what the code is doing.

Many thanks

What's with the re-post? I think you should continue your discussion where you were already discussing it, here.

Your original post will be bumped to the top of the list automatically (twice) if there are no responses for some time. Please let the process happen.

If no-one is interested in it, I doubt that multiple copies of your post will improve your chances of getting a helpful response.
