Intercepting bluetooth headset commands

Hey!

I have a Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset that I'd like to use along my bluetooth-enabled laptop running Ubuntu Jaunty for VoIP and stuff. I've read in the headset manual that once paired with a cellphone, you can use the buttons on the headset to place a call, terminate a call, redial last called number, transfer a call, etc. Some pretty nifty controls, if you ask me.

So I was wondering... Since I plan to use the device exclusively with my laptop, is there a way I could somehow detect those button presses on my laptop and have it execute a predefined script? I am fine with having to write a python or a C/C++ program myself or perhaps even a kernel module for that, I just need some directions.

Regards,
Ol
