Question How can I compile 64bit with g++, Enterprise 3, AMD64 ??

Hello!

I'm trying to compile a program in 64bits doing:
>g++ -m64 t.cpp -o foo
I get
cc1plus: sorry, not implemented: 64-bit mode not compiled in

The error message confuse me:
-Do I have a bad installation?

-cc1plus, I've done plenty of search on google (and here) for that, but I can't figure out what it is.

My program has nothing to do with it (at the simplest, it's a main() with a return 0; )
My hardware is a HP box with AMD64 inside. We installed Linux Enterprise 3 on it. Full install.

I've seen stuff about "configure", but that command "does not exist" at my prompt.

Hints and Links (or solutions ;-) ) are welcome :-)

Thanks

Blou

You need 64-bit version of teh compiler to compile 64 bit executable. You have probably 32-bit system (as AMD 64 can emulate 32 bit). So you need to upgrade (at least the compiler, but you should the whole system).

cc1plus is a part of g++ (preprocessor, if I remember correctly).
