Favorite Coding Tunes

This is borrowing an old post from Slashdot.org (I think).

I'm sitting here at work grinding out code as a deadline of next week approaches and as I sit here jamming to my techno I started wondering what other Linux-Lovers listen to while coding...

Personally its usually either Chemical Bros., VnV Nation, Dune, or some other sort of techno for me.

How 'bout you?

i really like post-rock. sometimes its so ambient that i don't notice it, until it builds and builds and builds and explodes

its at those explosions that i get my best work done...when i do actually work

right now i'm listening to the new mogwai and spent 2 hours customizing my laptop's desktop. hahahahahahhahaha. i love work

Lately it's been mostly Aphex Twin, but pretty much anything in my collection will, except Saul Williams. Too astounding not to stop and listen to.

How about some punk? I listen to Dead Kennedys and the Clash. Don't ask me why, I guess its just so that I don't fall asleep But I'll try out some Pink Floyd, especially the album The Wall. Goooooood stuff.

To be honest, I can't really spare any mental cpu cycles or hard disk space (i.e. listening to music, the tv or children) while I am programming else I can't concentrate on the task at hand, although, I will admit that this is a good question/thread.

The shadows, Cliff Richard and the Beach Boys when coding web-related stuff, Audio Adrenalin for more hard-core stuff.

I try to start off any coding session with the Mission Impossible sound track...it gets the juices flowing and then I switch to classic rock or heavy metal, maybe SOME techno, but I really prefer guitars and drums to electronic music.

man that album is drab. to think they did "The cat noise song" (ithaca 27 squiggle 9) was it? something on rock action)

who'd have thought someone with "sk8" in their name would be that way inclined.... then again i do watch a lot of skating on tv.... but it's ironic so i'm allowed too.

I listen to gybe a bit, but kinda got tired of the one horse trick they've got going. Moved round into Don Caballero, Do Make Say Think, Billie Mahonie etc... recently. and of course they other side of the coin with Shellac n that.

I was watching mtv cribs with jackass and Chris Pontius (blatantly the coolest of them) had a Modest Mouse album in his truck. damn good album too.
