I'm trying to compile this program of mine and get these :

In file included from /usr/include/bits/posix1_lim.h:126,
from /usr/include/limits.h:144,
from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2.2/include/limits.h:132,
from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2.2/include/syslimits.h:7,
from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2.2/include/limits.h:11,
from /usr/include/bits/socket.h:31,
from /usr/include/sys/socket.h:35,
from chat_client.c:6:
/usr/include/bits/local_lim.h:36:26: linux/limits.h: Input/output error
make: *** [chat_client] Error 1

I have no idea about this error. Any ideas??

Thanks a lot in advance for your time.

Code:
EIO I/O error. This will happen for example when the
process is in a background process group, tries to
read from its controlling tty, and either it is
ignoring or blocking SIGTTIN or its process group
is orphaned. It may also occur when there is a
low-level I/O error while reading from a disk or
              tape.
Sounds like possible problem with your harddrive? You might want to umount the partition that /usr/include/bits resides on and fsck it.

please don't try to mark threads as urgent. all threads are answered on a purely voluntary basis, and so it is not fair to try to demand a quicker response. cheers.
