Question about processor.

Hello,

I am going to be upgrading my Motherboard and processor from intel to AMD Ryzen 7 how is Manjaro going to handle the change in hardware?

I would appreciate any info you can give.

this depends on the version of your os (kernel). An older kernel/os will not be able to handle the new hardware, because the drivers are missing.

The pitfalls are likely very much the same as on any Linux with AMD graphics.
You might want to check out both Manjaro's and Archlinux' wiki though.

I've been having a load of minor display issues with Ryzen and Radeon in Linux -

until I discovered this in the Manjaro repos:

Quote:
Linux kernel for AMD CPU based hardware
It links to http://http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-amd

It's been over 2 whole days now without a glitch

(I had no idea such a kernel existed. Silly me.)
