Hello,
I have Manjaro installed on my old Macbook Pro, precisely it is
MacBookPro5,3.
If I switch to one of the consoles via
CTRL + ALT + F<num>, the keymap is set to
uk by default and that would be OK but this is not correct for Macbooks
Code:
[macbookpro ~]$ localectl
System Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
VC Keymap: uk
X11 Layout: gb
X11 Variant: mac
I can list all possible keymaps filtered by
uk and
mac-uk is in the list
Code:
[macbookpro ~]$ localectl list-keymaps | grep uk
atari-uk-falcon
dvorak-uk
dvorak-ukp
mac-uk
sunt5-uk
sunt6-uk
uk
The problem is if I set this keymap using
loadkeys mac-uk when working on one of the TTY consoles, the keyboard does not work at all; frankly, it is a mess, such that keys produce completely different characters that they supposed to. For instance, if I press BACKSPACE, I get a letter
e.
Does anyone have an idea how to sort it out?
Thanks
