Question Pacman, Octopi, and Yaourt

Hello,

I am a little confused regarding the relationship between Pacman and Octopi.

In addition, I have installed Yaourt and Yaourt-gui.
When I try to search the AUR repository in Octopi (set to search the AUR), I see essentially nothing.

Can anyone advise.

Thanks

octopi is amanjaro thing, so i can't say anything about that.
i thought it was a gui frontend to pacman, with additinal AUR features.

pacman is the original archlinux package manager, cli only.

yaourt is a so-called aur helper, no more nor less.

i think it would behove manajro users, too, to know the differences between the official repositories and the arch user repositories.

Pacman is command line package manager, only manages Manjaro repositories not AUR

Octopi is GUI package manager in KDE - don't think it does AUR

Pamac is GUI package manager in GTK DEs. Pamac-qt being developed for KDE
both use pacaur for access to AUR

Yaourt is no longer included in Manajro
