manjaro duel boot with another LINUX distro not wotking
it's all coming back to me now. Manjaro being a knock off Arch boots differently then the "normal" linux distros so one cannot switch grub control without loosing Manjaros ability to just boot like all the other normal distros off another grub on a different linux install.
instead one gets an error about loading the kernel . I don't remember the exact message I just remember it is screwy and the devs mich as well work for microsoft because it makes the arch distro like I am the only one you need so I will not allow the user to easily play with other OS's.
what I do not remember is the mod that would need to go into 40_custom to change the grub to allow / force manjaro to be nice and play well with other Linux distros if they happen to be installed afterword and install grub manjaro or any other arch based distro will still boot.
It is not a manjaro thing but an arch thing, but arch bei8ng arch doesn't care about that. they only "support" themselves and tell others to piss off if it is not pure arch.
anyways, getting that out of my system, does anyone know what to write to force arch boot setup to work whenever another LINUX distro has control of grub?
Generally Arch (and Manjaro) use a more recent version of GRUB than other distributions, so you are normally better off to let the Manjaro grub run the show.
