I'm using Mandriva 2005 and I recently installed zsnes so I could play some roms of my old snes games. Well once I get a game loaded it works perfectly, but on startup or exit, or any other time that I push esc. to access the menu it likes to freeze up. It doesn't do it immediately, but a lot of times it will just freeze up and sit there, sometimes the computer doesn't even respond, and I just have to let it sit there long enough and it'll just start working again out of the blue. Does anybody know what could be causing this problem?

I've had some wierd problems with ZSNES, too. First off, it runs WIKID slow, which I can't quite figure out. I don't know if it's my display drivers being out of date or something, but anyway, whenever I change resolutions to a full-screen res, it locks up, and I have to do the ctrl+alt+F#, log in as root and kill it. Just so we can know a little more, you did a standard compile and install right?

No I installed from the Mandriva software manager that did it all for me, but the problem has been fixed. Last night I switched guis in favor of gnome of kde, and almost every problem I had in kde has been fixed by switching to gnome.
