Hi all

I'm trying to get Mandrake 9.1 going, dual booting with win2k. Hardware:

NVidia TNT2 M64 32MB,
384 MB RAM,
PIII 733
Generic monitor (TVM AS6S)
2x20 GB HDD

Disk 0 is partitioned 75% Windows, 25% Linux.

The installer runs fine, but when X starts, it displays erratically at anything higher than 800x600, and at 800x600, the display is shifted half off the side of the screen. This would be easy, except the monitor's on screen display is disabled in Linux - both in console (fb and non-fb) and GUI mode. It all works when I boot into windows again. .

Also, this weirdness seems to persist if I restart without powering off - memory test screen is misshapen, etc.

I've tried many different XFree86 configurations, with different drivers/monitors/resolutions, it always comes back to this dodgy display.

Any suggestions?

I have that card and a similar dual boot situation. Try the drivers from Nvidia's site. The installer is really easy to use.
