Hello everyone.
I have a big problem here, and even if I try it seems I'm not able to solve it. I hope you are.
I've got an Acer Aspire 1694WLMi and my lspci output is:
....
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M24 1P [Radeon Mobility X600]
06:01.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments Texas Instruments PCIxx21/x515 Cardbus Controller
06:01.2 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
06:01.3 Unknown mass storage controller: Texas Instruments Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
06:03.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG (rev 05)
06:08.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5788 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 03)
I installed Mandriva LE2005 and I tried to configure wireless...I failed.
I have IPW2200 installed, version 1.0.1 I think, and acerhk support in the kernel, but all my special keys don't work, the wireless led included.
My iwconfig output is:
eth0 unassociated ESSID
ff/any
Mode:Managed Channel=0 Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Bit Rate=0 kb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm

I read in other threads, in this forum, something about firmware....I don't have any "firmware" dir in "/usr/lib/hotplug", is this normal?
I tried everything I could think, but no way....
I hope someone will be able to help me, even because I know the same wi-fi card, in the same laptop works great in a Gentoo system - lirmm.fr/~yousfi/divers/acer/ -...
Thanks everyone.
Bye
Giuse
