What about the Dial up connections.
Using the broadband, wireless and adsl on Mandrake 9.2 is no problem. Recommending to a friend who lives in BT's poor areas -only 150 more required, unless of course a cable company installs the area, or a politician ruling politian moves in the area -Mandrake 9.2 came up with a problem I had not realised many were suffering from.
The dial up user really needs a better connection than mcc. Kind members here pointed me back to the old KPPP package that has been lost in time. I now have to inform my friend out in the non adsl, cable area how to install the Program, Ikon, Setup modem, Setup provider, Use the connection etc. To make matters worse my friend has just got her email working in the receive direction, but cannot mail out. - the reason might be with the ip or some weird password problem, which we are working on.
Well I spent last night writin a KPPP and modem setup page and will post it somewhere. Anyone, interested in the same I will send it to them?
Meanwhile, I think Mandrake should restore KPPP to the basic installation. Why ruin a good distro?
