Mandriva 2008.1 FREE with a Sagem XG703 USB Wifi recognised by Mdv as a GlobespanVirata

Hello Everyone,
I installed ndiswrapper for a Sagem USB Wifi using the Windows sys and inf files. AND it WORKED first time. m
I switched off the computer, rebooted and was unable to connect so I tried to reconfigure the Sagem USB Wifi and was met by a message saying that it was already connected by the USBcore:

There is a Broadcom chip on this laptop but I decided to give it a miss and go for the Sagem USB instead.

The Sagem USB _GlobespanVirata _ shows up in the Network Centre but any attempt to connect fails.

Does anyone havre an idea as to how I get past this point
