just installed 2010.2 64 on lenovo z565 which uses a broadcom 4727 wireless.
copied the 64 bit driver from windows to my home directory and went to
configure my wireless. only have the option to use ndiswrapper, no other
choices appear when using the mcc. when i select 'next' with that option
ticked and navigate to the copied driver, i get:

Unable to find the ndiswrapper interface!

when i click ok in this warning dialog, i get:

Unable to find network interface for selected device (using ndiswrapper driver).

how do i get past this?

iwconfig wlan0 says 'no such device'
lspci shows: 02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Device 4727 (rev 01)
the device does appear in the mcc hardware list

problem solved. got rid of mandriva and installed kubuntu. wireless configured easily.
