trouble installing mandriva 10.1
I'm trying to install Mandriva 10.1. I've tried installing from CD-ROM, and boot floppies. No matter which media I use, the installation bombs IMMEDIATELY saying "sending termination signals" and "kseriod exiting".
I've seen some similar posts around, but they all make reference to SCSI problems, and multiple CD-ROM drives, neither of which pertain to my situation.
I'm running a standard Pentium II 1 GHz system, with 1 IDE CD-ROM, 1 floppy device, 3Com 905 (tornado) NIC, no other peripherals directly attached.
Does anybody have any clues they could share with me?
Thanks!!!

EDIT #1
I haven't seen any replies to this, but I've been forging ahead anyway, and thought I'd post my findings...
I read some more about trying to boot from the 2nd CD, then swapping back to the 1st CD. That got the installation going, but if I used the graphical installation, I would get the same result as above. So I've been going through text-based installation, and it seems to be working much better.
My belief is that this is somehow related to my chipset, the Intel 815. It has onboard video and audio. After going through the text based install and rebooting, my system hung when trying to load the audio driver. So, to try to get this right from square 1, I completely re-installed again, and chose to use the older alternate audio driver. Again, it hung when loading audio. Couple that with the fact that I can't go through the graphical installation (remember video and audio are embedded), that's what makes me think this is specific to my chipset.
Honestly, I don't need the audio, and really don't need the GUI, anyway. They'd be 'nice', but not entirely necessary.
Hope this helps anyone else fighting the same issues...
