Unhappy The Graphical X Window Is Down Idonot Know What To Do


PEACE,

I HAD A CRATICAL PROBLEM WHEN BOOTING INTO LINUX THE GRAPHICAL
WINDOW (I THINK (X11))DOES NOT APPEAR and i had awindow simillar to DOS window so i search alot for asolution and i know that i should install an updated (xfree86)version so i download the latest virsion from nvidia site and istalled it but i had agreater problem when i use (X11) and make atest.{ amasseg appears that there are an error and told me to change the parameter} i do not know what is it also when iwrite( XFree86) i had amassege told me that (file 'fixed' not found)and(server error)

pleas help me,


note:
i use mandrake 10.0
kernel 2.6.3-7mdk
nvidia gforce fx 5200

Please don't yell at us (all caps is yelling).

Log in as root and configure urpmi via the command line, then upgrade your system using that.

I don't know what command line editors Mandrake uses, but Midnight Commander has a nice, easy to use filemanager and editor built in.

urpmi nano may install an easy to use text editor.

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
Midnight Commander home page

Did it ever work or is this a fresh install?Check your spelling it is a little hard to read your post.

peace,

no at first the x window work but once i press HALT in the user page its reboot the system and never give me agraphical window again

when i write xfdrak and make atest it gives me

(error: defalt font 'fixed'not found)


i am BIGGINER so pleas help and be patient
