I just installed Mandrake9.2 a couple days ago, first time linux user. I'm having trouble with my system either locking up with a blank screen or rebooting suddenly for no reason. It started happening when I left X running overnight downloading stuff, when I woke up it was at a blank screen. I thought it was just the screen saver or powersaver but it wouldn't snap out of it. This happened a few more times where it would lock up like this when I left X running and then now it has moved on to just rebooting the whole system sporadically only minutes after boot. It is now a problem that is in the way of me continuing to use and learn linux because I can't use the X(KDE) system for more than a few minutes before it either reboots or locks on a black screen. When I first installed It never locked or rebooted while I was using it, now it happens constantly. I do not have this problem when I boot into Windows98 (dual boot installed on separate drives).
