Stuck before reaching X-Window, HELP!
As the topic says, I'm not able to get to X-Window after I rebooted after installing Mandrake 9.1...
After I picked linux to boot (using LILO), then a list of building, initialing, etc went OK, OK and all the way down...
until I see Checking for New Hardware, and it hangs there forever.
I'm thinking maybe some of my hardwares are not compatible...and it might be related to other troubles while installing earlier...
so I'll list them out and hopefully you linux experts could offer me noob some assistance:
1. CPU = P4 2.8GHz 800FSB
2. MB = MSI-865PE-FIS2R
3. RAM = A-Data PC3200 256MB x 2
4. DVD-ROM = Matsushita 16X
5. CD-RW = Asus 52x24x52x
*Both 4 and 5 can't be detected during installation, even though I DID set them to boot under BIOS, but Mandrake setup program won't detect either of them and kept on asking me to select a source to install Mandrake...so I had to install from my HD*
6. HD = WD Sata 36GB 10000RPM x 2 in Raid-0 Configuration
*Mandrake can't detect these 2 configured disks whatsoever*
HD #3 = MAXTOR 30GB IDE
*The only detectable HD, also where I installed Mandrake from*
Thanks in advance.
