spam piff files

Hello
I am posting this here because i am USING MANDRAKE 9.1 and dont know where to place this message
..security .. or MS PROBLEMS .
....

I seem to have become a target FROM nasty microsoft files

i had forgotten about this since migrating away from MS .

I still do "occasional support" unfortunantely for MS products and I recently had a run down with their support about MS Money
I asked them a basic question and they just sent me a laconic mail about how to restore a corrupt file
I considered the answer USELESS AND IGNORED THEM.

Then They mailed me asking If I had been satisfied by their answer so i said "well not really"

Oh boy they sent me a reply stating .. Yes we tried to help bla bla you you didnt listen etc etc . naughty boy .
So on the spur of the moment I blew my cool and simply answered in the subject line F OFF
!!

Since then I am overwhelmed with nasty attatchment files
coincidence .

I have the same problem - in that I am being sent .pif files. Odds are that your mail address has been harvested. The .pif files are not a problem in Linux, they can't do anything.

I do think, though, that your reply to Microsoft was wrong. Why would you answer a help desk with that after only 3 emails?

There doesn't seem to be any point to this thread, and if there was this wouldn't be the right forum for it. If you have a specific question about how to handle the e-mail (a spam/security question) then post it in Security.

Thanks.
