I just installed mandrake linux 9.2 and the sound card did not register. It told me to type sndconfig. Im new to this, where should i type this and how can i configure my sound card?
Open a console as root, the start thing, then Konsole, one should say root. Then type in sndconfig. A screen will come up and just pick out the proper card. When I had to do mine on my old system, I did default on everything except the card type. It picked plan SoundBlaster whre I had a SoundBlaster 16. Use arrow keys to navigate the screen.
