Setting up wifi card as access point in Mandriva

Hi guys!

I have a small Linux box running Mandriva 2007.1 functioning as a router and file/print server. Now, I want to configure it as a wifi access point, but I'm stuck.
I have a PCI wifi card with an Atheros chipset, and i have the madwifi driver.
I found several tutorials for Debian and Ubuntu, but none for Mandriva or Red Hat

What I want to do is set up an AP with WPA2 authentication to access my LAN and the Internet via the wifi interface.

So far I have a wifi network which my laptop recognizes, but it doesn't have encryption and I cannot connect to it.

Can anyone link a howto on this or can give me some hints?

Thanks in advance,
Moha

The Mandriva Control Center has a tool for 'Sharing your Internet connections'.

Still can't make it to work.

What I have accomplished so far:
- I have a working wired network with my Linux box as a router
- Configured the wifi AP to the same local subnet as the the ethernet card
- Added the wifi interface to the Shorewall interfaces and enabled access for both the Internet and the LAN
- My laptop can connect to the AP, but gets no IP (dhcpd IS working on the box, as my laptop can obtain an IP on the ethernet interface.
- If I set up a fixed IP on the wifi interface of the laptop, the network still doesn't work. I cannot ping the linux box, nor anything else.
- Strangely enough I can ping the IP of the Linux Box's wifi interface from any computer on the wired LAN.
- I tried to configure the wifi to a different subnet, but nothing has changed (well, except the IP address).

Did anyone create an AP in Mandriva before and can help me?
