Services swap error message

My box is running mandrake 10.2 and I got 2 20gig fireballs in a raid1. yesterday I changed a config file for proftpd and then I restarted the service and I got this error message:

sh: line 1: /usr/bin/(swapd): No such file or directory

I thought it was funny but everything was still running so I never would complain. Today I restarted my box, the first time in about a year and that error message appeared just after every single service as it started up. the services are running so I am not complaining once again. After it was started I tested it again starting apache.

[root@x1-6-00-01-03-23-8f-53 root]# service httpd start
sh: line 1: /usr/bin/(swapd): No such file or directory
Starting httpd2: [ OK ]
[root@x1-6-00-01-03-23-8f-53 root]#

still message comes up.

So ... does this mean my swap partition in the raid is messed? Is this a flaw? Did someone tamper with my box?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Exclamation related?

Maybe on a related note, I also noticed that my box has been spitting out TX-OVR BRU's all over the place.

eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:01:03:23:8F:53
inet addr:216.221.82.161 Bcast:255.255.255.255 Mask:255.255.255.128
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:33323330 errors:137384 dropped:0 overruns:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:839352
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xdc00

Thats how many overruns I got in about .. 7 hours.

suggestions?

edit: After reading the post I noticed that there was no listed TX packets, something some be messed up in my box, confusing TX-OVR with TX .. period
