Angry Samba Configuration Wiz. MDK10

Oh boy: having found the 'SAMBA Configuration Wizard" in the MDK 10 Control Center, I know find I cannot get past the step where the file permissions are set.

AFAIK the user(s) I am entering has/ have a password in smbpasswd.

But clicking NEXT jumps the cursor back to the user name in the "Read List" field, suggesting invalid user?

Or is it a bug?

TIA

Change to SWAT, Tim. It's on the MDK Distros and does work well for those of us who are command line challenged ;-)

Are you getting a user log on box or a message that path cannot be found?

I gave up on it and am using SWAT that comes with MDK10. It works great.

OK, do you have a unique NET BIOS name set in the SAMBA configuration?

I found that both the Linux box and the XP clients thought they were 'localhost', which in my experience seems to cause the path not found error.

If you're using SWAT, it's under GLOBALS > Netbios Name

Don't forget to restart SAMBA after making the change
