REALLY Urgent quesiton on MDK 10

Hey everyone. I'm a bit nervous now.

When I get the install disks, do I HAVE TO install a "fresh" copy of Mandy or can I keep my current os and it's files and "update" from the cdroms???

I have never had to "update" a system before as the only 2 os's I had on this comp was win98se and now Mandy 9.2

Please respond soon if possible.
./Tiger

PS: Thanks much for any replies

I never used Mdk 10, but I am sure that you DON'T have to install a fresh copy. I'm pretty sure that there is an upgrade option in Mdk 10, since there was one on 9.2 and earlier versions.

there is an upgrade option which might or might notwork. the more you tweaked with the system (like installing things that are not on the CDs adn stuff), the more likely it is that it'll break your system. But you should give it a try. But Backup your home directory and other personal files.
Even if you do a fresh install, you can keep your home directory which makes life a bit easier (espeicially if your main concern is documents that you saved).

There is an upgrade option. I did a fresh install on a second hard drive when I installed 10 Beta 2. I have it so that I can boot into either one, however, I've found myself using the 10 Beta2 all the time so I may save the download files and documents from my 9.2 install.

Take a look at:

I believe there is an upgrade option, but i recommend you back up your data and do a fresh install since in MDK 10 the kernel is 2.6.3, and due to other aplication confrontations.
