problem with default window manager, stuck in KDE 4 somehow, session type option gone

My mandriva 2008 system froze, and when I rebooted I found I have lost the graphical log in screen that let me change session type from KDE 3.5 to KDE 4, etc. I am now stuck in KDE 4 when I startx from the command line.

What file do I edit to change my default window manager back to KDE 3.5?

KDE 4 was just on there to look at it, and its pretty useless. It also has no access to my 3.5 desktop, etc.

thanks!

If you want to stay on the command line, switch to the root user and type "urpmi xtart". his will install a command line desktop chooser. To use it , type "Xtart" and make your selection.
