New to linux)
I am using mandrake 9. I am having problems trying to install netscape 7 or mozilla 1.4.
Having the same problem with both. When I press on the installer of either one it will open up and say directory /usr/local/netscape doesn't exist create it? Then when you press yes I get a error 624 Can't make destination directory. When I try to make a new directory in /usr/local I get a access denied error?
I finally got it to install to /usr/local/netscape under root.
The install went well but it did not leave any shortcut icons on the
desktop or is in the menu tab, I can go to /usr/local/netscape/netscape and open it up. I can move the netscape icon in /usr/local/netscape/netscape to the desktop but
it will not work as a shortcut. I was woundering how to create a netscape shortcut on the desktop?
right click
choose "link to application"
in the "execute" box
navigate to and point it at the desired "executable"
and in the general box, name the shortcut and choose icon
