Post mouseman wheel usb not working on install of mandrake 10.0

I put in Install cd number 1, selects language and everything, but when it comes to choosing the mouse...nothing works.

im using a logitech mouseman wheel on a usb port, but the mouseman is only listed in the PS/2 category.
I've tried the other listed ones too(like generic 3 button..), but the mousepointer just doesn't move.

Help's appreciated

What is in the Section "InputDevice" of your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file?

This is the section where the second line says:
Identifier "Mouse1"

Sorry for my lack of knowledge...
You see this is the first time im trying linux, and I am a little sceptic to install an OS in which my mouse isn't working...

Shall I install it with some generic driver, and then try to fix it?
Or is that file you are tallking about on the install cd or.?

Run as root: mousedrake.
Try ":universal - any ps2 & usb mice".
You will be able to test it before making changes.

I plugged in a Logitech iFeel usb wheel mouse to make sure that this setting would work with this logitech mouse.

Here is the corresponding entry in /etc/X11/XF86config-4 for this setting:
Code:
Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
    Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection
