Hi all,

I'm new to linux system and have installed the linux mandriva on a desktop, the mouse pointer remains on the screen but it does not move. I have tried reinstalling the software but it din't seem to work.

Could anyone help in resolving this issue?

Have you gone into MCC ( Mandriva Control Center ) and tired to configure it? There should be several standard mouse(s) available for you to try.

What type of mouse? USB, PS/2 wireless?

Its only a few keyboard strokes, for those that know what they are doing.

Alt + F2 opens a run dialog. In there enter drakmouse. You are in the mouse config gui. No mouse required.
