Hi!
I'm using Mandrake 9.2, Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer usb..
I experience quite often mouse crashes: the pointer halts on a point, and moves no longer. I've had this problem when i installed the system.
It seems to me that chrases occure most when entering, or editing HardDrake.
Is this just the pointer, or the X server, or the system entire?
tests:
Can you navigate the X-windows using the keyboard? (alt-tab, etc)
Can you switch to a working shell? (ctrl-F1 to Ctrl-F4)
The X seems to be OK, the keyboard is still working. Actually, when it happened during the install it occured in the "finalising settings" (or whatever) section, and afterwards each time I entered a subsection (e.g. Network setup, printer setup ...) it took approximately 3 minutes that it recieved commands again from the keyboard. However, i could finally finish the setup...
i have a similar problem with my intellimouse running on usb.
My mouse seems to act up when I go to mandrake control center after giving my root password.
Luckily I get round it by connecting and old PS2 mouse up which never hangs so I presume it's either my usb drivers or drivers mandrake uses with my intellimouse.
