I did an auto update from 2009 to 2010 on my acer laptop and was unsuccessful. It seems to break the mirror list at some point and then completely pukes out some bizarre error message.

same here.. i click-upgrade my existing 2009.x to 2010 (which took few hours for the 4.4 GB upgrade).
once finished, i get black screen of death.
then i boot to failsafe then manually deleted xorg.conf, boot up same problem
next.. i boot to failsafe again then entered <mcc> at the command and manually set up graphic. Finally i can see but the the keyboard+mouse attached to KVM doesnt seem to work. And my 3D stuff doesnt seem to work either. Iĺl wait and see, if not, iĺl boot back my mandriva2009.x in a heartbeat since I have the diskimage

My first option was upgrade .
It seems to be OK with only a bad think could not do system update .
Do not come with the window to enter root password.
Than I did a clean install .
So far so good.
The clean install was quicker than the upgrade
It boots quicker than 2009 anyhow on my midi tower.
I upgraded from mandriva2009.x where everything seemed to be very slow during the first day. But after few post-updates, my mandriva2010 is finally rocking
One thing I noticed is that OPERA10 Browswer runs faster on 2010 compared to 2009.x In addition, the videos on CNN.com can finally play !!
On the side note, firefox 3.5.5 seems very slow !

This was a problem when I first installed Mandy 2010 but with a few updates the speed problem was cured...My current problem(none serious) Mandriva keeps notifying me that an update is pending...update to 2009
Besides a few new release jitters it seems to be working O.K.

haha yea that happened to me last night twice and i just laughed about it then cancelled the path to downgrade back to 2009.0 !
oh yea.. the boot-up time is so much slower with 2010 (when upgraded from 2009x). To be exact, the boot-up pauses for manys seconds during this message..
.
INIT: version 2.86 booting
.
.
while the fresh-install of 2010 is very fast and doesn't have the above message ! I did upgrade-install on my PC#1 and I also did fresh-install on my PC#2 The upgrade-install boots-up slow with the above message, but it kept all my eye-candy and nothing damaged on my home directory

Hi.........Can anyone tell me how to upgrade from 2009 to 2010 through Internet?
its automatic ! you'll see the red circle with exclamation point on the taskbar (lower right) - just click on it and update as it comes on to warn you that theres updates.
