Thumbs up mandrake options

online at last. After a week of messing with the other systems. I went to a freinds sons birthday party. He has three or four types of lynux + bsd. he got mandrake off a shelf and told me to go get online. 10 minuetes!!! no searching for drivers. no editing config files. I am posting from a linux harddrive. I've got every MS system since windows 1.02. I am convertng eveything over to linux and Putting every ms os I have in a box with a note that I have finally got bill gates out of my pocket. Then sending it to microsoft. What other choices do I have for a browser than netscape. It might be allright after tweaking but right now it don't look so great.

Congrats!

I think you'll find that we all think you made a good choice

Browsers: My favourite is Mozilla which in my opinion is the greatest thing to hit the net since... well... linux. Mozilla is the uncommercial and still developed Netscape.

Other excellent choices are opera and the KDE browser Konqueror.

Also, although I've never spent much time with it, the Gnome browser Galeon is apparently also really good.

If you are looking to "tweak-out" Mozilla a little, check out Mozdev.

I like Opera a lot and you can download some really nice skins/themes for it.
http://www.opera.com/
skins: http://my.opera.com/customize/skins/

Mozilla is also good and it comes with the Mandrake install. If you want to use Mozilla you should look at this site for themes and great addons.
addons: http://www.mozdev.org/projects/active.html
themes: http://themes.mozdev.org/

Sorry bigvoice I think I may have posted at the same time as you (same info).

I personaly like Mozilla, as stated above you can down load themes that change the look and feel. Also go to preferences -> Navigator -> tabbed browsing and uncheck "hide the tab bar . . . " Tabs are the coolest.

YES, MOZILA LOOKING LIKE IT MAY BE MY BROWSER. KONQUER CAME WITH THIS THING. I JUST HAD NOT FOUND IT YET. I LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKED BUT FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT CHECK MY MAIL WITH IT. THE WEB SHOWED UP REALLY GOOD WITH IT THOUGH. I CHECKED OUT SOME REVEIWS AND THE ALL LISTED MOZILA FIRST AND GAVE IT THE HIGHEST RATING.
