Unhappy Mandrake 9.2 Inst: Problems with CD2

Hello,
I am trying to install Mandrake 9.2. I downloaded the free ISO images, checked the md5sums and wrote them onto CDs.
When I try to install, first CD goes throuh peacefully, but installation comes to a crawl (almost a halt) after a few seconds into the second CD. Thought it might have not been written correctly, rechecked md5sum and rewrote the CD, reproduced the problem! Assuming the problem could be with the system, when it was tried on another PC, the problem reappeared. (Both PCs were running RedHat without any incidents.)
I checked the web for this problem, and threads in this forum..., apparently no one else reported the problem! Now I have two options. First is to rewrite the CD of another company (ie not Sony and lower X), or do 1st CD installation, let it come up, and then install the rest of the packages.
I did try to figureout if there was some s/w with which I can complete the instalation of the rest of the packages, got to rpmdrake (IIRC), tried installing Gnome, it installed some rpms, but I still did not find Gnome in desktops. So I do suspect there may not be a way of completing the installation this way either.
Could anyone suggest me a way out please?
TIA.

I had the same problem, first tried CD1, no problem with that one. going for CD2 after a while it hangs, is talking about bad packages and the setup stopped. So I tried only installing CD1 and continuing with the other packages over the internet. But somehow i didn't like that aprouch and I just reinstalled everything using a network setup.

Everything is fine now.
If you have fast internet at home, I would do a networksetup.

Thanks kvtournh. I shall try with another machine. It seems the second PC finally got it installed (my collegue tried it, not aware how did he do it), but X is giving problems. I will try on my machine now, and will see what was the problem. Thanks for the reply.
