Mandrake ???


Hi everyone !!

Just a simple question .......what's the difference between Mandrake i586 and Mandrake PPC...

Mandrake PPC is for PowerPC's (Mac's) while i586 is for "Pentium" like architectures.

Smile Yep.. dont get confused

As above said, the PPC is for power pcs and the i586 is for Pentium PCS. Note that when "i586, i486, and i386" is indicated, they all are pentiums. Just newer/older versions. So if you have a pentium i486 and the installation cd mentions i586, no worries.

Talking tarek is almost right

i386 and i486 are pre-pentium Intel chips. i586 is the first pentium.
