Mandrake 10 video display problems
I just finished installing Mandrake 10 but I can't seem to get the the video display working. When I try to log in, I can't startX?? I just get a bunch of errors. Something along the lines of Screen(s) found but not configure or something. The video driver I am using is ATI RAGE 128 GL AGP and I have a 19inch Phillips moniter. Is there some issure with the video card and Mandrake? I know it is a shitty card and I want to get a new one, but that will not be for a few months and I want to use Mandrake 10 now. I had Red Hat 9 installed on it yesterday and it worked fine.
mandrake (in fact quite a few distro's i beleive have this issue) have major issues with ATI cards although i thought that card was in the list of working browse around these forums and you should find a thread that helps (look for ones about radeon 9600-9800) should be almost the same. You wouldn't by any chance have a nforce2 motherboard either would you another potential *deathtrap* in linux.

Thanks. Yeah, I have had trouble with another ATI video card and Mandrake before. However, I was just talking to someone about it and he gave me some ideas that I am going to try tonight. He thinks that the video card is just being picky and if I mess around with the displays it will work.
