I'm trying to install Mandrake 10, and already have Windows XP installed. I have Windows on one partition of 90 gb, and have free about 50 gb of unpartitioned, unformatted space. But when I run the Mandrake install, it comes up with errors "Can't read partition sda, it's too corrupted" or something like that. It comes up 4 times, first sda, then sdb, sdc, and sdd. Every time it asks if I want to repartition the drive. Then when it gets to the Partition step, it says it can't find room to install. I have a Raid controller, Promise's FastTrak TX4 S150. Is this the problem?
This is my first time working with Linux, but I'm not new to computers in general.
EDIT: The error is "I can't read partition table in device SDA, it's too corrupted for me
" It then goes on to say it can continue by overwriting the partitions, and I have said no all 4 times. I don't want to lose Windows.
ANOTHER EDIT: When I look at the messages (or whatever that Alt+F3 gives you) it says it can find the array, correct size and everything, but it can't read the partition table on the hard drives? This is killing me
