Mandrake 10.1 *PPC* kernel source install
NOOB here. Trying to get kernel source installed for 10.1 *PPC* (! i586). I downloaded/installed the rpm from cooker (using urpmi), and it claims "Everything already installed" [I had installed from the distro CD's earlier, but that package is now mysteriously missing...]
rpm -qa shows the kernel:
kernel-2.6.8.1.12.2mdk-1-1mdk
rpm -ql shows the files installed in /lib/modules/<version> and the stuff in /boot but nothing in /usr/src which is where they have always ended up when I installed 10.0 kernel source on i586 machines. And the files in /lib/modules don't look quite right...(directory structure all wrong, really looks like modules & drivers, not kernel source, etc)
Really I just don't understand why familiar steps taken in familiar order have placed me in unfamiliar territory.
I'm trying to get the source so that I can compile wlan-ng drivers for the dwl-122 that I have so that my daughters imac can connect to the internet.
Or I could pop for OSX Panther...
btw, 10.1 on a strawberry imac works brilliantly (i.e. boots cleanly) other than the above (and I've not tested extensively). I have OSX (too early a version for dwl-122) in the first partition, and linux on top of that. Pretty neat.
Thanks
-Keith
