October 24th, 2003 - Important notice! - Several users have reported a big issue with LG Cd-rom drives used with Mandrake Linux 9.2. These Cd-rom drives which are provided with several DELL computers - including the GX270 - are reported by LG to be incompatible with Linux. Please avoid to use Mandrake Linux 9.2 with these LG CD-ROM drives or you could damage your Cd-rom drive. All details, future updates and possible fix related to this issue are available here. Other Cd-rom drives are not affected by this issue.
