I have a strange thing - there is no "info" command on my Mandrake 10.1. How could that be? I do not remember that I deselected anything during installation.
I don't know Mandrake, but I assume it's got some notion of package management. iirc, info is in the `GNU coreutils' package, so go see if it's broken or something like that. (corrections are welcome).
Btw, under "User CP", you can set you distro to Mandrake 10.1, then it will appear in the sidebar of all your posts, along with your username (where I got Debian). This saves you from typing it all over, plus in case you would have forgotten, we can still provide distro-specific help. Just a thought.

as I said, it might not be under coreutils. Under debian, there's an `info' package. Try that. Otherwise, browse through the package repositories (Mandrake has repositories, right?).
